Frequently Asked Questions:

What kind of T-shirts do you use?

We use 100 % organic cotton T-shirts designed especially for women. The organic cotton was grown fair-trade in Peru and then sewn into shirts at a fair-trade women’s cooperative in Nicaragua.  They were designed and printed in Montreal.  They are made a to be on the longer side and to account for the fact that they will shrink when washed and dried.

Your prices are in Canadian $ (CAD) - how much is that in my currency?

Since exchange rates vary a lot these days, the easiest way to find out is to consult an online currency converter.

I am from Canada, too. Will there be taxes added to my bill?

No, taxes are included in the price.

Which methods of payment do you accept?

We use paypal which is an easy and secure way to place your order.  You do not need to have a paypal account to purchase your shirt(s) with a credit card.

How long does the shipping take?

Canada: 5 -7 business days
United States: 7 - 10 business days

Can I buy shirts at wholesale prices?

Why is organic cotton a better choice than conventional cotton?

Cotton is the most heavily sprayed crop in the world – accounting for approximately 25 percent of the world's insecticides and more than 10 percent of the pesticides (including herbicides, insecticides and defoliants).  This rapidly degrades soils, reduces biodiversity, pollutes watersheds and communities.   The World Trade Organisation estimates 20,000 deaths and three million chronic health problems each year are the result of the use of agricultural pesticides in developing countries.  Organic cotton production, on the other hand, replenishes and maintains soil fertility and promotes biodiversity - keeping communities, farmers and waterways healthy.  Seems like a no-brainer to us!

What does fair-trade mean?

Fair-trade means that producers were given a fair wage for their work.  Unfortunately, this is not usually the case.  Millions of people in the developing world are scraping to get by, unable or barely able to feed their families with the wages that are given to them by mostly multinational corporations.  Priti shirts, however, are made at a worker-owned women’s cooperative in Nicaragua.  By purchasing a priti shirt, you are ensuring that women in the developing world receive a generous wage so that they and their families can lead healthy, wholesome lives.
